On Sunday, June 2nd, Germany’s own B.B. and the Blues Shacks concluded their mini four stop West Coast Tour by performing at the world famous Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa, California. With twenty four years and a dozen albums under their belts, The Blues Shacks continue to be one of the most highly acclaimed blues bands in the world. They combine stellar musicianship with excellent stage craft that includes just the right touch of showmanship which makes attending one of their concerts a special treat. With their very high standards of excellence, B.B. and the Blues Shacks amazed even veteran fans of their performances. A packed house on this Sunday afternoon was treated to one of the great concert experiences in recent memory. Lil “A” and the Allnighters opened the show. Both bands were joined by the Almighty Horns of reed men, Johnny Viau on tenor and Troy Jennings on baritone. Harmonica player and vocalist Kim Wilson even joined the festivities and sat in for a couple of numbers with the Blues Shacks. Enjoy a photo essay by Alex Garner documenting an afternoon of World Class Blues in the O.C.
