Welcome to a new decade!

Here in the first month of 2020 we bring you our annual “Best of…” edition of BLUES JUNCTION. This year it is dedicated to our friend Tom Hyslop. Tom lost his long struggle with cancer earlier this month. My personal appreciation of Tom begins our look back on 2019.  He was universally beloved and he will be missed.  

Tom, as in previous years, participated in our popular annual feature entitled Dave’s Top Ten List of Top Ten Lists along with nine other blues aficionados (including yours truly). For this edition I jumped in and actually ranked my top ten blues albums of the year. 

As in years past, we have published our annual BLUES JUNCTION Production Awards. 

We also revisit some of our CD reviews which we published this past year from some of these new CDs.

While the total number of great blues albums may have waned slightly over previous years there was no shortage of truly great albums and our distinguished panel has certainly identified many of these great contributions to the blues lexicon.
