On The Greg Piccolo Interview
Nice interview Dave. Greg is one of my all time favorites! ~ Guy, San Diego, California (U.S.A.)
Thanks for the insightful interview David. I was lucky to catch him with Jimmie and Lou Ann, I thought he stole the show! It's too bad he didn't grow up in the South, during the British Invasion-soul music was alive and well in the Carolinas, Georgia and Alabama and there was plenty of work for horn players in that era. Glad he's still doing it, I would love to hear his trio live. ~ Lee, Harbour Island, The Bahamas
BLUES JUNCTION is such an inspiration as it is a welcome reminder of how much great music and great musicians are out there in the weeds. I know I am not going to read about the likes of Greg Piccolo (just to sight the most recent example) anywhere else. I can’t wait to read what you have in store for us in April. ~ Taylor, Conroe, Texas (U.S.A)
There has been a version of Roomful of Blues for 45 years now. That group was at its absolute zenith when Greg was fronting the band back in the 80’s/early 90’s. There was simply nothing like it. In your interview David with Greg he came across as genuinely modest about his music but that is a characteristic of the great ones. Thanks for putting Greg back in the spotlight. He deserves it. ~ Randolph, Newark, New Jersey (U.S.A)
On The Scott Bomar Interview
Scott Bomar has done a great thing in keeping Memphis music and some of its great musicians in the spotlight ~ Joe, Biloxi, Mississippi (U.S.A.)
It is a wonderful thing to hear this brand of greasy soul music make a comeback with a whole new generation of listeners. Very cool... ~ Julie, Lexington, Kentucky (U.S.A)
Mac, you finally get around to interviewing a bass player and don’t even ask him a single question about that instrument. I expect that from the other on-line blues resources but not from BLUES JUNCTION. ~ Brent, West Memphis, Arkansas (U.S.A.)
I’m sorry but The Bo-Keys are NOT a blues band. Stick with what you know and love best Mac, THE BLUES. ~ Ingunn, Oslo, Norway
Last month you do a movie review. This month talk to a guy about movie soundtracks and then you watched the Academy Awards. Do these events mean we are experiencing the end of days? I am frightened. ~ Janet, Los Angeles, California (U.S.A.)
