This anthology of pre-war blues music shares with its listeners a rare look into some true geniuses of American music. The 24 track digitally remastered recordings, as well as the twenty page booklet, chronicle the history of barbeque and blues music in the early part of the twentieth century.
Honorable Mention: Texas Guitar Killers: The Houston Homeboys
Best Roots Americana Album:
Los Fabulocos Dos Delta Groove
The second album by this Southern California based band features a variety of roots music influences all from north of the border. Everything from a Lalo Guerrero number to some Bakersfield country, pachuco swing and 50’s era retro-rock can be found on this wildly entertaining album. Jesse Cuevas sings with a great deal of soul and the reverb drenched guitar of Kid Ramos is featured throughout the record.
Honorable Mention: Dave Alvin Eleven Eleven Yep Cat Records.

Best Producer: Jeff Scott Fleenor Delta Groove Record’s own wunderkind produced or co-produced albums by Los Fabulocos, Shawn Pittman and Big Pete.
Best Album Cover Art: Los Fabulocos Dos by Mike Molina
Mike Molina is the band’s drummer. He is also a painter created did the Dios de los Muertos hand drawn painting that graces the band’s second album. It is a true work of art and reminds me of some of the creative expressions that graced the big vinyl album covers, I so loved as a kid. Honorable mention of course goes to Ana Popovic’s Ecleto Groove release entitled Unconditional.
