Awsome! Al Blake is heavy real blues. Thank you for this. I love what Al said in your interview with him: There’s a quote by Gandhi, “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” ~ Cadillac Zack,President Southern California Blues Society
Real Blues is right. ~ Art Martel, President Straight Up Blues Productions/Host of the Straight up Blues show on KSPC FM/Record Producer

I have found so much joy in reading the Blake’s Blues article/interview in BLUES JUNCTION. I am in my mid 60’s and have listened to blues music all my life, as did my parents and their folks. Mr. Blake is the first person to lay it out there and get it right. I have been screaming at a brick wall my whole life about what, as Mr. Blake calls it, the de-evolution of blues music. What is going on in the name of innovation breaks my heart. I am usually uncomfortable when white people (no offense) try and explain what blues is about. Mr. Blake and the interviewer too for that matter have an understanding of what they are discussing. I read a lot on this subject and believe me that is very rare. Thank you very much. ~ Clifford, Oxford, MS
Loved the Al Blake interview! We love his music and he is a great fellow. Thank you.~ Catfish Keith, Blues Musician
It is a very good in depth interview, gracias David Mac! ~ Sheldon Abbott,Host of the Cure for the Blues on KUCI FM
On Bob Corritore’s Remembrance of Louisiana Red
Red was one Hell of a great guy, I always looked forward to working on shows with him, he is missed. ~ James Harman, Blues Musician
On Black and and White and Blues in the House
Thank you, David! Good article, yep seems like blues can be misrepresented all over the place, even "blues" festivals. I thought I was the only one who felt this way. There's an entire universe of nitty/gritty blues artists still left unknown to many and who deserve just as much recognition. I love Mick but it would have done better service to this genre to have brought in someone from the States who is actually a blues legend and we all know BB King isn't the only one. You are right on the money with "Sweet Home Chicago". Hot damn! ~ Catalina, Carson, CA
I agree that it could have been much more authentic, but any blues on national TV is better than NO blues on national TV! Hopefully some viewers were inspired to seek out more knowledge of the art form. ~ Janine, San Diego, CA
